Installation

Prerequisites​

Before installing, ensure you have:

  • Divi 5 — Divi Theme or Divi Builder with the Divi 5 Visual Builder
  • WordPress — Current stable version of WordPress
  • PHP — PHP 8.0 or later (8.1+ recommended for Form AI and server-side calculations)
  • Divi Form Builder ZIP — Downloaded from your Divi Engine account or from the Elegant Themes Marketplace if you purchased there

Installation flow at a glance​

You will complete this sequence:

  1. Download the plugin ZIP.
  2. Install and activate it in WordPress.
  3. Confirm the Form module is available in Divi 5.
  4. Activate your license (Divi Engine purchase only).
  5. Run a quick form test to confirm everything works.

Step 1: Download the plugin​

  1. Log in to your Divi Engine account.
  2. Go to Downloads.
  3. Click the Divi Form Builder download button to get the ZIP file.

If you purchased from the Elegant Themes Marketplace, download the plugin from your Elegant Themes account instead.

Step 2: Install and activate the plugin​

  1. Log in to your WordPress site.
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New.
  3. Click Upload Plugin, choose the Divi Form Builder ZIP file, then click Install Now.
  4. After the upload completes, click Activate Plugin.

Step 3: Verify installation​

  1. Confirm the Divi Engine menu appears in the WordPress admin sidebar.
  2. Open any page in the Divi 5 Visual Builder.
  3. Add a module and verify the Form module is available in the module list (under Divi Engine or Form Builder).

Step 4: Activate the license​

If you purchased from the Divi Engine website:

  1. Go to Divi Engine > Licenses in the WordPress sidebar.
  2. Enter your Divi Form Builder license key (from Divi Engine Orders > Manage License).
  3. Click Activate.

Skip this step if you installed the plugin from the Elegant Themes Marketplace. Marketplace purchases do not use a separate license key in Divi Engine > Licenses.

Step 5: Verify license and runtime behavior​

  1. Return to Divi Engine > Licenses and confirm the license status is active (Divi Engine purchase only).
  2. Open a page in the Divi 5 Visual Builder and insert a Form module.
  3. Save the page and submit a test form from the front end.
  4. Confirm the success message appears and your notification email is delivered.

Common setup issues​

  • Form module does not appear: Confirm Divi Form Builder is active and you are using Divi 5 Visual Builder.
  • License does not activate: Recopy the key from your order and make sure there are no extra spaces.
  • No notification email received: Check spam first, then verify recipient and subject settings in the form.
