FAQ – Common questions answered

License and installation

Where do I set my license key?

Q: Where do I enter my Divi Membership license key?

A: Go to WordPress Admin → Divi Engine → License. Find Divi Membership, paste your key there, and click Activate or Save. Do not use an old "license settings" or separate license page—the correct place is Divi Engine → License (all Divi Engine product licenses are managed there). Get your key from your Divi Engine account under Orders → Manage License.

Where is the account page URL configured?

Q: How do I change the URL of the membership or account page (e.g. to yoursite.com/membership)?

A: Go to Divi Engine → Divi Membership → Endpoints. The three URL settings serve different pages:

  • Membership Page URL (default membership) — the public membership page.
  • Account Page URL (default account) — the signed-in member account.
  • Member Page URL (default member) — individual member profiles.

After changing a slug, go to Settings → Permalinks in WordPress and click Save Changes so WordPress refreshes its rewrite rules.

Trials and coupons

How do I offer a free trial?

Q: How do I let new members start with a free trial?

A: In Divi Engine → Divi Membership → Free Trials, choose per-plan or global trial behavior, restrictions, reminders, and grace period. In per-plan mode, open the membership plan and enable Free trial on each recurring billing cycle; set its length and Collect payment details at signup there. Registration Form and Signup Form then show the trial terms for the selected cycle.

How do I create a coupon?

Q: Where do I create discount coupons for Divi Membership?

A: Go to Divi Membership → Coupons and click Add New Coupon. Set the discount type, usage limits, expiration, and eligible plans. Registration Form and Signup Form can show a coupon field, and their order summary updates when the code applies to the selected plan. Coupon analytics remain under Divi Membership → Reporting → Coupons.

Account and plans

Can members switch plans?

Q: Can existing members upgrade, downgrade, or change billing cycle?

A: Yes. From the member account page (membership area), members can use the plan switcher to change billing cycle (e.g. monthly to yearly) for the same plan, or switch to another plan if you allow it. There is a per-plan setting to include or exclude plans from the switch modal. Cancelled members can Resubscribe from the same area (same flow as Renew).

Payment and Stripe

Where are payment gateway settings?

Q: Where do I configure Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer, or WooCommerce checkout?

A: Divi Engine → Divi Membership → Payment Gateways. Enable the methods you want.

  • Stripe — Enter the publishable key, secret key, and webhook signing secret. Stripe Legacy Mode is optional.
  • PayPal — Enter your PayPal email, Client ID, and Secret, and add the webhook URL shown on the page.
  • Bank transfer — Set the checkout label and payment instructions. Access starts when you mark the subscription paid.
  • WooCommerce — Shown when WooCommerce is active. Members finish on your store checkout and pay with the methods already enabled in WooCommerce, such as WooCommerce Payments, Mollie, or Square. Link a product to each billing cycle on the plan WooCommerce tab. This gateway has no API keys.

Validate Payment Gateway API Keys appears only when Stripe or PayPal is enabled. Save your settings first, then use it to check those credentials.

What is Stripe Legacy mode?

Q: What does "Enable Stripe Legacy Mode" mean?

A: Stripe v3 (default) uses Stripe Elements and supports multiple payment methods (card, Klarna, iDEAL, etc.); billing address is not shown by default. Stripe Legacy (v2) uses the older integration and shows the billing address. Enable Legacy only if you need v2 behaviour or a specific integration that requires it.

Reporting

Where do I see revenue and signup reports?

Q: Where are the revenue, signup, and coupon reports?

A: There are two reporting screens:

  • Divi Engine → Divi Membership → Reports is the current dashboard for overview metrics, charts, subscriptions, revenue, trial analytics, and CSV export.
  • Divi Membership → Reporting is the legacy reporting screen with Revenue, Signups, and Coupons. Use its Coupons tab for coupon analytics and coupon CSV export.
