Choosing Post Types in Divi Membership

When setting up a membership site using the Divi Membership plugin, it's crucial to determine which types of content (post types) should be controlled by membership restrictions. This step is essential for tailoring your membership site to meet specific content access needs. Here's how you can choose and configure the post types that Divi Membership will manage.

Access Membership Settings

  1. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to the Divi Membership plugin dashboard by clicking on Divi Membership in the sidebar.
  3. Select Membership Settings to configure various aspects of the plugin.

Select Post Types

  1. Within the Membership Settings, locate the General tab.
  2. Find the section titled Post Types for Membership Access. This section lists all the available post types on your site, such as posts, pages, and any Custom Post Types you may have created.
  3. Decide which post types you want Divi Membership to control. Consider which content should be exclusive to certain membership levels.
  4. Set the toggles to ENABLED for each post type that you want to be managed by the membership restrictions.

Select Post Types

Save Changes

  1. After selecting the desired post types, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button.

Proceed to Creating Membership Plans

  1. Once the post types are configured, move on to creating detailed membership plans.
  2. Navigate to the section where you can define membership levels or plans. Here, you'll specify what content each type of member can access.

Additional Tips

  1. Be Strategic: Choose post types that align with your business goals. For instance, if selling educational content is a goal, ensure that your courses or tutorials post types are controlled by membership plans.
  2. Test Configurations: After setting up, it's crucial to test different membership scenarios to ensure that content access controls are working as expected.
  3. Feedback and Adjustments: Once your site is live, gather feedback from users and make adjustments to your setup as needed. User feedback is invaluable for refining access controls and improving the overall member experience.

By following these steps and utilizing the Divi Membership plugin effectively, you can ensure that your content is properly gated and accessible only to users who meet the membership criteria you've set, thereby enhancing the value of your membership site.
