Managing Content Restriction in Divi Membership

Congratulations on setting up your Membership Plan on your Divi website! With your membership structure in place, the next crucial step is to customize the appearance of restricted content. This ensures a smooth and visually cohesive experience for both your members and non-members.

Access the Restricted Content Settings

  1. From your WordPress Dashboard, go to Divi Engine on the left sidebar, and click on Membership Settings.
  2. Once on the Membership Settings page, select the Content Restriction tab to access various settings related to content visibility and restrictions.

Understand the Settings

Content restriction settings vary based on the type of content and how your pages are constructed. For layouts built within the Theme Builder we offer the settings to customers whether you can see the Post Title and Content. For the content you can chose to either show a Plain text message, Divi Layout from the library or delegate to the "Conditions" defined on modules within your layout. Read more about conditions HERE.

  1. Single Post Page Settings (Theme Builder): For layouts crafted within the Divi Theme Builder.
    1. Decide whether to show or hide post titles and content for restricted posts.
  2. Single Post Page Settings (Default Template): For posts using Divi's default post layout:
    1. Adjust settings to control how restricted content is displayed when using the standard Divi post template. This is the layout seen by front-end users without any custom Theme Builder design.

Single Post Restricted Content

  1. Archive Page / Loop Settings: When creating archive pages or adding modules like the Divi Blog module that displays multiple posts.
    1. Set up how restricted content within archive pages or loops is handled. The settings are similar to those for Single Post Pages, allowing for consistent management across various types of content displays.

Additional Tips

  1. Clear Communication: Ensure that messages displayed on restricted content clearly inform users why they can't access the content and what they can do to gain access.
  2. Consistent Branding: Use Divi Layouts that match your site’s branding for restricted content messages to maintain a professional appearance.
  3. Test User Experiences: Regularly test different access scenarios to ensure that all users see appropriate content based on their membership status.

By effectively managing content restrictions with Divi Membership, you can create a tailored and secure experience for all users, enhancing satisfaction and encouraging more sign-ups for exclusive content access.
