Htaccess Settings Explained

Divi Nitro offers 4 optimizations via the htaccess file. These are outlined below

Leverage Browser Caching

Browser caching is a mechanism by which a web browser stores the resources (such as images, CSS, and JavaScript files) that make up a web page so that the browser can reuse them when the user visits the same page again.

GZIP Compression

Gzip compression is a method of compressing data for faster transmission over the internet. It is a widely used method for compressing web pages and other text-based resources before they are sent from a web server to a client's browser.

"Keep-Alive"

"Keep-Alive" is an HTTP header that tells the browser to keep the connection to the web server open for multiple requests, rather than closing it after each request. This allows the browser to send multiple requests over the same connection, which can reduce the latency and improve the overall performance of the website.

"Cache-Control" Headers

The Cache-Control header is an HTTP header that provides instructions to the client's browser on how to cache a resource. The header is used to specify the maximum amount of time that a resource can be cached, as well as other cache-related directives such as "no-store" and "no-cache".

To ensure your settings are applied correctly, don't forget to hit the Save Changes button on your permalinks page when you're finished. This will reset all necessary links so everything is running smoothly.
