Post Slider (deprecated)
In the Divi 5 module picker this module appears as DM: Post Slider (Depreciated) (spelling matches the builder). Do not use it for new builds. Prefer Divi’s native Post Slider / Fullwidth Post Slider with Machine’s query and dynamic content extensions, or Post Carousel for Machine carousel layouts.
What to use instead
| Goal | Use |
|---|---|
| Sliding posts with Divi’s native Post Slider look | Native Post Slider + Machine extensions |
| Machine carousel with custom loop cards | Post Carousel |
| Filtered archive of posts | Archive Loop (not a slider) |
Legacy layouts
If an existing Divi 4 layout still contains the Machine Post Slider shortcode:
- Follow Divi 5 Migration Tool for shortcode unification and Divi’s migrator.
- Rebuild the section with native Post Slider or Post Carousel.
- Re-save Divi Library layouts that still embed the deprecated module.
The Divi 5 Visual Builder may show a deprecation notice and limited editing; treat that as a migration prompt, not a supported workflow.
Legacy Design settings
Existing layouts can still expose these groups while you prepare their replacement:
- Design → Typography — Title and body fonts.
- Design → Layout — Inner shadow.
- Design → Overlay — Background and text overlays; enabling each overlay reveals its color controls and, for text, border radius.
- Design → Navigation — Arrow and dot navigation colors.
- Design → Slider Autoplay — Autoplay speed and continue-on-hover behavior after autoplay is enabled.
Do not use these settings as a reason to keep the deprecated module. Match the required appearance in native Post Slider or Post Carousel, then remove the legacy instance.
