FAQ – Common questions answered

License and installation

Where do I set my license key?

Q: Where do I enter my Divi Membership license key?

A: Go to WordPress Admin → Divi Engine → License. Find Divi Membership, paste your key there, and click Activate or Save. Do not use an old "license settings" or separate license page—the correct place is Divi Engine → License (all Divi Engine product licenses are managed there). Get your key from your Divi Engine account under Orders → Manage License.

Where is the account page URL configured?

Q: How do I change the URL of the membership or account page (e.g. to yoursite.com/membership)?

A: Go to Divi Engine → Divi MembershipGeneral and find Endpoints (or Membership slug). The slug you set there (e.g. membership) is used as the path: yoursite.com/<slug>. After changing it, go to Settings → Permalinks in WordPress and click Save Changes to flush rewrite rules so the new URL works.

Trials and coupons

How do I offer a free trial?

Q: How do I let new members start with a free trial?

A: Configure trials in Divi Engine → Divi MembershipFree Trials (trial duration and whether payment is required upfront per billing cycle). Then, in your membership plan, enable the free trial for the billing cycles you want. At checkout, the Register and Signup modules will show the trial (e.g. "7 days free, then $X/month") when that plan and cycle are selected.

How do I create a coupon?

Q: Where do I create discount coupons for Divi Membership?

A: Create and manage coupons in Divi Membership (e.g. Divi Engine → Divi Membership → Reports → Coupons or the plugin’s coupon management). Set discount type (percentage or fixed), usage limits, expiration, and which plans the coupon applies to. Members enter the code on the Register or Signup module; the order summary updates when the coupon is valid for the selected plan.

Account and plans

Can members switch plans?

Q: Can existing members upgrade, downgrade, or change billing cycle?

A: Yes. From the member account page (membership area), members can use the plan switcher to change billing cycle (e.g. monthly to yearly) for the same plan, or switch to another plan if you allow it. There is a per-plan setting to include or exclude plans from the switch modal. Cancelled members can Resubscribe from the same area (same flow as Renew).

Payment and Stripe

Where are payment gateway settings?

Q: Where do I configure Stripe or PayPal?

A: Divi Engine → Divi MembershipPayment Gateways. Enter your Stripe publishable and secret keys (or PayPal credentials), and choose whether to enable Stripe Legacy Mode (v2). Keys are validated (e.g. pk_ / sk_ for Stripe); save and confirm there are no validation errors.

[Related: Payment failed or Stripe form not showing]

What is Stripe Legacy mode?

Q: What does "Enable Stripe Legacy Mode" mean?

A: Stripe v3 (default) uses Stripe Elements and supports multiple payment methods (card, Klarna, iDEAL, etc.); billing address is not shown by default. Stripe Legacy (v2) uses the older integration and shows the billing address. Enable Legacy only if you need v2 behaviour or a specific integration that requires it.

Where do I see revenue and signup reports?

Q: Where are the revenue, signup, and coupon reports?

A: Go to WordPress Admin → Divi Engine → Divi Membership → Reports. You’ll see tabs for Revenue, Signups, and Coupons with charts, date presets, and options (e.g. CSV export for coupons). Your preferences can be stored for the next visit.
