Notices

Overview

Notices are the on-page messages visitors see after a successful or failed submit.

Where to find it

  1. Open the page in the Visual Builder.
  2. Select the Form module and open the Content tab.
  3. Open Notices.

Settings

  • Notice Message Position — Before Title, After Title, Before Button, or After Button.
  • Success Message Type — Text or Layout (a saved Divi layout).
  • Success Message — shown when the type is Text.
  • Success Message Layout — shown when the type is Layout.
  • Failed Message Type, Failed Message, and Failed Message Layout — the same choices for a failed submit.
  • URL Validation Message — shown when a URL field has an invalid format.
  • Preview Notice in Visual Builder — show the success or failed message in the builder. Preview Notice Type chooses which one.

Redirects after submit are in the Redirect group next to Notices. See Redirect settings.

Best practices

  • Keep the success message short and say what happens next.
  • Make the failed message specific enough that the visitor can fix the problem.
  • Match the wording with your email confirmation.
  • Check the messages with AJAX on and with AJAX off if you use both.

Verify it works

  1. Trigger a valid submission and confirm success notice text.
  2. Trigger invalid submissions and confirm field-level/global error messaging.
  3. Check notice readability on desktop and mobile.
